Farmington Hills-based The Shirt Box and Walled Lake-based Kenny’s Lakes Area Auto Experts (Lakes Area Auto Experts) will hold a bike drive at their respective shops Sat., Sept. 12. The donation day will benefit Back Alley Bikes (BAB), located in Detroit, who will put the bicycles in the hands of students in need this school year. Bikes of all sizes and conditions, as well as new bike helmets, will be accepted. Founded in 2000, BAB, a 501(c)3, is a community bike shop and repair and resource center that provides cycling education and services with a focus on youth development, sustainable practices and community access. The organization accepts donations of used bikes of any type, style and condition for its Earn a Bike program for youth ages 10 to 17.Read More
